Overview

Through continued growth and strategic expansion of our clients' Global Services operations, our client is seeking a Consulting Practice/APC Director  for Asia Pacific based in China.  This role is chartered to lead, develop and build the Business Practices of APC and Simopt (Simulation/ Modelling /consulting team) to deliver successful, timely and profitable project engagements to our clients in APAC.

Commercially aware, credible and with experience of working in a technology or services role, the ideal candidate will have a track record of managing effective services teams with an ability to motivate people with diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

·       Manage the APC and SimOpt services teams on a day to day basis to drive operational execution of project delivery, managing; resource allocation, demand planning, team performance, development and up-skilling.

·       Take responsibility for increasing competitiveness and supporting sales to close business

·       Accountability for practice revenue, bookings, margin and utilisation. Maintain forecasts and business metrics, report KPI’s to APAC Senior staff. Effectively manage resource conflicts.

·       Coordinate with our clients' Project Manager and their client to ensure projects achieve, or exceed, stated milestones, delivery dates and financial goals

·       Manage risks and opportunities. Drive business initiatives in collaboration with sales, managers and regional peers to increase sustainable revenues at planned margins.

·       Deliver billable consulting services including; solutions design, advisory consulting and Engagement Management in support our clients' Clients.

·       Be confident, capable and have the ability to support projects, with demonstrable ability to gather, document and implement Client requirements.

Qualification

·       Experienced Professional Services Director with at least 10 years' experience , having held a senior consulting and/or technical leadership positions with regional experience and exposure.

·       First degree in an engineering or business discipline or equivalent and proven experience in the corporate or operations planning/scheduling in a petroleum refining, petrochemical or process manufacturing environment.

·       Proven track record of execution in building highly effective teams. Demonstrable ability to motivate people with diverse backgrounds.

·       Experience of working for a software vendor or consultancy organization delivering solutions would be highly desirable.  Direct exposure to and experience of consulting solutions in the industry would be a distinct advantage.

·       Good communicator oral and written.

·       Requires excellent interpersonal skills, sound judgement, ability to listen, problem solve, negotiate and communicate solutions.

Reporting directly to the Administration Supervisor your key responsibilities will include the administration of company housing, general human resources requirements and general office administration tasks as required.  The successful applicant for this role will also be required to relieve the duties of the Administration Supervisor.

• Carrying out general human resources activities, including processing of new employee documentation and payroll preparation.
